The Office of International Affairs and Education (OIAE) and RISE project group at the University of Ulsan successfully held the 2026 Global Talent Fair Preparation & Academic Conference Strategy Workshop on May 20, 2026, in Room 308 of the International Building (#43).
The workshop was organized as part of three-step career support program designed to enhance the employability and career readiness of international students. The program aims to provide systematic support, guiding students from career preparation to active participation in major employment fairs and professional networking opportunities. The session was led by Professor Benjamin Montgomery, with the support of four guest facilitators from industry and academic backgrounds, who shared practical insights and experiences related to career development and employment preparation. The workshop also featured a mentoring session by an international alumnus who successfully obtained employment after participating in last year’s Global Talent Fair. The alumnus shared personal experiences and practical tips on job fair preparation, interviews, and career development in Korea, providing participants with valuable guidance and motivation. During the workshop, participants received practical guidance on strategies for successfully participating in Job EXPOs and Academic Conferences, reviewed materials and case studies from previous Global Talent Fair events, and learned from real-world employment success stories. The program also included mock interview sessions in both English and Korean, providing students with valuable opportunities to practice interview skills and receive professional feedback. The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical insights, individualized guidance, and opportunities to strengthen their job-search competencies. Through the program, students gained a deeper understanding of the Korean job market and acquired essential skills to prepare for future employment opportunities and participation in the upcoming Global Talent Fair. The Office of International Affairs and Education will continue to offer various career development initiatives, including employment workshops, career counseling, and job fair participation support, to help international students achieve their academic and professional goals. |
