Our department and Professr Benjamin Montgomery recently hosted a career workshop titled "Becoming a Job EXPO Expert & Job Clinic Consultation Sessions," designed to help students navigate the job market and prepare for future employment opportunities in Korea.
The workshop included the following key sessions: 1. About Job EXPO - Introduction to Job EXPOs - Overview of Job EXPOs and Job Fairs, including various styles and formats. - What to expect and the objectives of attending a Job EXPO. - Job Interview Preparation - Different types of job interviews and techniques for tackling them. - Common job interview questions and answers, with simulation exercises to practice (Simulation 1 & 2). 2. Tailoring Your CV & Interview Preparation - 1:1 Resume and CV Tailoring - Students can schedule a personal meeting to discuss job interviews, career goals, and receive in-depth feedback on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles. - Meetings will take place during Day 2 of the workshop, and each student will have approximately 10-15 minutes for a personalized consultation. - Students are encouraged to bring pre-prepared materials and a laptop/tablet for the session. [Job Fair to Seoul] In addition to the workshop, we traveled to Seoul to attend the largest job fair for international students, providing a valuable opportunity for students seeking employment in Korea. Our department supported students with transportation and on-site guidance, making it a meaningful experience for everyone involved.
