The core purpose of these activities is to build capacity, foster innovation, and enhance mutual understanding through shared learning.  Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I)   These initiatives focus on the systematic process of creating new knowledge, developing new technologies, and translating these advancements into market-ready products, services, or processes. These projects bridge the gap between initial discovery and tangible economic or social impact.  Additionally, this opportunity covers one of the four domains Birmingham and Ulsan have agreed to collaborate on: Smart Cities. The Smart Cities domain focuses on transforming urban environments in Birmingham and Ulsan into more connected, efficient, sustainable, and liveable spaces.
