OIAE recently conducted the "2024-1 International Student Crime Prevention Education" in collaboration with the Mugeo District Police Station. The event aimed to prevent crime among international students by raising awareness and understanding of Korean laws and basic regulations. This initiative, coordinated with the local police, supports international students in successfully completing their studies and staying safe. The education session was held on May 20, with patrols conducted from May 23 to June 30, occurring four times a week. The education covered several important topics, including how to report to 112 and handle various crime scenarios. It also provided information on the exemption from the obligation to report illegal immigrants and guidelines for part-time job applications. Additionally, students learned about the awareness and prevention of voice phishing crimes through case studies. Through this program, the Mugeo District Police Station aims to enhance the safety and security of international students, ensuring they are well-informed about legal matters and basic public order in Korea. The event was well-received, with active participation from the students, and we are confident that it will contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all. |
